Li Hongo‘s experiments with paper sculpting began when he bought one of the “honeycomb” paper balls used for festive decorations in China and took it apart to see how it was made. For a book editor and designer, Li Hongbo realised “it’s really quite simple,” he says. “Yet the flexibility in terms of shape and properties is amazing.” His bizarre sculptures remind me of a slinky I had as a child, but he’s taken it to the next level and then some.
