The Res Documentary gives insight into the struggles of what independent artists must endure when confronted with the business of music. Shareese Renée Ballard, better known as Res, is an incredible talent (can’t stress that enough) and filmmaker Steve Zegans, captures Res’s struggles to navigate in the cookie cutter industry of music.
“I met Res in the fall of 2010 at a small Sunday night show in Philadelphia. Her live show was so impressive and entertaining I really couldn’t believe so few people knew of Res and this great music I was able to check out for $7. I asked her if she would let me follow her as she recorded new music, toured the country and hustled to get her music and name back out there. This film is an honest up close look at what being an independent artist feels like.”
Can’t wait to see this cause Res is one of those artist’s y’all need to now and love like I do.
